How Grain by Grain can support while you’re on a GLP-1

Personalized Nutrition While Using GLP-1 Medications

GLP-1s like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro can be powerful tools — but they’re not a nutrition plan. At Grain by Grain, Loshi Vue, RDN, will help you build a realistic, sustainable approach to eating that works with your medication, not against it. From managing side effects like nausea or appetite changes to ensuring you’re fueling your body properly, you’ll get personalized, culturally sensitive guidance that supports long-term results and overall well-being.

Virtual Support That Fits Into Your Routine

No long commutes or rigid schedules. Our fully virtual sessions make it easy to meet with a licensed dietitian from wherever you are. You’ll also get between-session tools like messaging, food journal feedback, and progress tracking — because long-term success isn’t built in a single session.

More Than Just Weight Loss

GLP-1 medications often start with a focus on weight loss — but at Grain by Grain, we look at the full picture. Whether you're managing blood sugar, PCOS, blood pressure, or cholesterol, we tailor your care to the whole you. We also support clients with early risk factors or family history who want to take a proactive approach.

If you plan to come off your GLP-1 medication, we’ll help you build the lifestyle strategies and nutrition habits needed to sustain your progress — so the results last long after the medication ends. It’s not about quick fixes. It’s about long-lasting habits — one small change at a time.

“I started Wegovy feeling unsure about what to eat, but Grain by Grain made it so much easier. Loshi helped me manage nausea and still hit my protein goals. I feel stronger, healthier, and more in control than ever.”

Bao N. (Type 2 Diabetes Client on Wegovy)

“GLP-1 meds helped me lose weight — but nutrition coaching helped me keep it off. This is the first time I’ve felt confident in what I eat every day.”

Samantha L. (PCOS & GLP-1 Support)

“Loshi gave me practical, real-world advice that worked with my culture and family schedule. I didn’t think it was possible to feel good while on Mounjaro, but now I do.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Not sure if GLP-1 Nutrition Support with Grain by Grain is right for you?
These common questions may help you feel more confident about your next step.

  • No — we’re not prescribers. However, we work closely with your physician or care team to help support GLP-1 use safely and effectively. In some cases, dietitian documentation showing medically necessary nutrition counseling (and failed attempts) may support medication approval through your doctor or insurance plan.

  • GLP-1s affect appetite and digestion, but they don’t teach you how to eat. We help you manage side effects, prevent nutrient deficiencies, avoid overly rapid weight loss, and support healthy muscle and metabolic function. The goal is long-term success — not temporary weight loss followed by regain.

  • Not at all. We focus on quality over quantity — helping you get the most nutrition from smaller meals while still enjoying your favorite foods. Our job is to help you feel and stay nourished and confident, not restricted.

  • Yes! Many of our clients meet with us before starting medication, either to improve their chances of getting approved or to explore other options. We also help those who want to come off GLP-1s safely and maintain progress with nutrition and lifestyle changes.

If you’re not looking to use GLP-1’s or are still uncertain, I”m happy to answer questions while we’re on a weight loss journey together. Learn more about Weight Loss Coaching here.

  • That depends on your medical history, goals, and how well you respond. Nutrition plays a huge role in what happens after you stop — we help you build the habits that keep progress going, even without medication.

  • Not at all. GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro were originally developed for managing type 2 diabetes by improving blood sugar control. Many clients also use them for conditions like PCOS, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, or to reduce cardiovascular risk. At Grain by Grain, we tailor your nutrition plan to support both the medical and metabolic goals of GLP-1 treatment — not just weight loss.

  • In many cases, yes. Most major insurance plans offer coverage for medical nutrition therapy (MNT) when it's related to chronic conditions such as diabetes, PCOS, high blood pressure, or obesity. We’ll help you verify your coverage and walk you through the next steps. Many of our clients are able to use their insurance to receive ongoing, personalized nutrition support.

  • Absolutely not. In fact, continuing to work with a registered dietitian can be even more important after stopping GLP-1s. We’ll help you maintain your progress, rebuild healthy habits, and prevent weight regain.

Whether you’re tapering off medication or finished completely, we’ll support your long-term success with lifestyle-based strategies rooted in nutrition, movement, and sustainable behavior change.

Not true. Quality matters — especially protein, fiber, and hydration.
